Getting to know: Cheyenne Brown

Hi, my name is Cheyenne Brown I am 18 years old from Donner Summit, California. I grew up skiing all around Lake Tahoe chasing my brother down the slopes, which is where my love for speed skiing started. This last season I raced the FIS/ Nor Am circuit and had a fairly successful season, winning a super G and a Downhill, which secured my spot into US Senior Nationals, as well as getting 9th in the JR Nationals Super G. This upcoming season I will be travelling the FIS/ NorAm Circuit with the squaw valley ski team in pursuit of the US Ski Team. In the future, it is my dream to represent USA on the World Cup circuit. I have quite a few goals but I’m willing and excited to start working towards them. I would like to be top 5 in the NorAm rankings for speed, as well as going to US Nationals and podiuming in the downhill. I would like to stay consistent all season and be top 20 every race! Skiing is my passion and I know what steps I must take to ski fast and I am willing to work hard on and off the…

Luca Robillard Update 2

Hi LTSC, I wanted to share another small update on the happenings of Luca’s ski season. Last weekend we had our final qualifying races with some Super G races. Of course when speed events occur so does the snowfall apparently:) With Friday’s race cancellation, the postponed on Saturday they finally ran 2 races back to back on sunday. As Luca calls it revenge of the Smalls ( 125 pounds wet) he ended up in 3rd position and 7th for the 2nd race. This concludes our qualifying portion for the division and he accomplished his 1st goal of the season of getting top 3 and qualifying for regionals in the top skiers. Now we try to round up funds for the trip at end of month to Alaska. He wants to do well with the best of the Western Region, who knows Nationals in his age group?  I tell him to keep realistic goals but he is still very much fired up. onward. I sent him to the east coast this week with my dad who is a coach.  He will train with a couple of ski academies, KMS and GMVS and will get to race Slalom there in an open…

ISAAC MOZEN

Lake Tahoe Ski Club Foundation, Thank you very much for granting me the financial assistance, I am so grateful. So far this ski season I have traveled to Colorado twice, then I went to the east coast and raced at Sugar Loaf. The next weekend I went to Mammoth for some races, and I just got back from Minnesota where I raced three slaloms there. On Wednesday, I make my way back out to the east coat again for a week of training, because unfortunately there is not enough snow to get good training here at Sugar Bowl. Thank you again so much for your support, and because I missed the Assado, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Best, Isaac Mozen
