Jo Abbott
Born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Jo ski raced in High School. Jo and her husband have one daughter, a U18 racing for Squaw Valley Ski Team. Jo comes from 20 years of working in the wine industry, was on the board of Napa Valley Classic for many years and has been the Chairperson of Far West Gala Event for the past three years.

Kurt Engel
Kurt, the father of three, has instilled in them his passion for skiing. As the Director of Sugar Bowl’s race department, Kurt prides himself in running one of the best race departments in the Western Region. He has volunteered for several local organizations including the Alpine Meadows Fire Department and Placer Co. Sheriff Nordic Search & Rescue. He is looking forward to being involved with the LTSCF and assisting with the Asado fundraiser.

Greg Jones
Greg was a top national and international racer in 1970s—1975: won 3 consecutive Europa Cup races, 1976, World Cup victory at Copper Mountain, rated 6th best overall GS in World, Bronze medal Innsbruck Olympics. 1977-78 US Ski Team. Greg has worked extensively with ski industry in technical development of skis, boots, and bindings. Greg has coached the Lake Tahoe Ski Team at Alpine Meadows and is currently employed by Squaw Valley Ski Team.
Todd Kelly
Todd was born and raised in Squaw Valley. He grew up racing for the Lake Tahoe Ski Club and is excited to encourage his three children to continue the Kelly family ski racing tradition. He has been in the ski racing community for over thirty years. Todd is excited to contribute to the LTSCF wherever his expertise and energy is needed.

Greg Murtha
Greg grew up in Darien, Connecticut, graduated from the University of New Hampshire and has spent the last 25 years in the ski business. He & his wife Laura have 3 sons, Dylan (1995), Austin (1998), Garrett (2001). He is a PSIA level 3 certified instructor, and is the Chairman of the Board of Sugar Bowl Ski Team as well as a member of the board of the Sugar Bowl Academy. Additionally he serves on NSAA National Marketing Committee; NLTRA Marketing Committee and is a former President of the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a member on both the Snowfest and Excellence in Education boards.
Eric Poulsen
Eric is a lifelong Squaw Valley resident and former US and Olympic Ski Team member. Eric is the father of three grown daughters and he participates with several public and private organizations in Squaw Valley as well as former participation with the Far West Ski Association. Eric currently works for Squaw Valley Realty. Eric brings knowledge of the history and relevance of the North Lake Tahoe area and its ties to the ski racing community.

Lee Schmidt
Lee grew up in southern Oregon, where he raced for Southern Oregon State College, National Champions in 1975, 76, and where he was “Skier of the Year” in 1975. Lee is the owner of High Sierra Water Ski School and the head J3 coach for Squaw Valley Ski Team. He is a former program Director and Head Coach at Alpine Meadows since and was Director of Skiing and Coach at Mt Ashland, OR. He is a PSIA Certified Instructor and Level 3 Coach. A member of the Board since 1985, Lee keeps us up-to-date on all the ski team activities, and helps on all fundraising activities.
Gail Scoville (Treasurer)
Born in Visalia, Gail grew up in Burlingame where she attended College of San Mateo. Moved to Tahoe in 1973 and worked for Bank of America in Truckee and Tahoe. Gail and John have twins: Jennifer and Brian. Jennifer was one of our top national competitors. Board member since 1994, Gail has worked on every fundraiser and chaired the golf tournament as well as the Asado.
Marco Sullivan
Marco grew up in Tahoe City and started out with the Squaw Valley Ski Team. He raced for the US Ski Team for 17 years, competed in 4 Olympics, won a World Cup Downhill, and had multiple podiums. He recently retired, but continues to give back to the Ski Racing Community through his speed camps: American Downhiller. He is also currently coaching the US Men’s Speed Team.

Larry Young
Larry is a 33-year Truckee resident and President of Ward-Young Architects. He is a former LTSC member (coached by Osvaldo) and ski raced at the collegiate level at University of Colorado. Larry and his wife Deborah, have two adult children, Brett and Quincy, who were both SVST members from Mighty Mites through JI. Larry hopes to help the LTSCF become financially stronger in order to provide more financial help to local junior ski racers.
