Jo Abbott

Born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Jo ski raced in High School.  Jo and her husband have one daughter, a U18 racing for Squaw Valley Ski Team.  Jo comes from 20 years of working in the wine industry,  was on the board of Napa Valley Classic for many years and has been the Chairperson of Far West Gala Event for the past three years.

Greg Jones

Greg was a top national and international racer in 1970s—1975: won 3 consecutive Europa Cup races, 1976, World Cup victory at Copper Mountain, rated 6th best overall GS in World, Bronze medal Innsbruck Olympics.  1977-78 US Ski Team.  Greg has worked extensively with ski industry in technical development of skis, boots, and bindings.  Greg has coached the Lake Tahoe Ski Team at Alpine Meadows and is currently employed by Squaw Valley Ski Team.

Lee Schmidt

Lee grew up in southern Oregon, where he raced for Southern Oregon State College, National Champions in 1975, 76, and where he was “Skier of the Year” in 1975.  Lee is the owner of High Sierra Water Ski School and the head J3 coach for Squaw Valley Ski Team.  He is a former program Director and Head Coach at Alpine Meadows since and was Director of Skiing and Coach at Mt Ashland, OR.  He is a PSIA Certified Instructor and Level 3 Coach.  A member of the Board since 1985, Lee keeps us up-to-date on all the ski team activities, and helps on all fundraising activities.

Gail Scoville (Treasurer)

Born in Visalia, Gail grew up in Burlingame where she attended College of San Mateo.  Moved to Tahoe in 1973 and worked for Bank of America in Truckee and Tahoe.  Gail and John have twins: Jennifer and Brian.  Jennifer was one of our top national competitors.  Board member since 1994, Gail has worked on every fundraiser and chaired the golf tournament as well as the Asado.

Marco Sullivan

Marco grew up in Tahoe City and started out with the Squaw Valley Ski Team. He raced for the US Ski Team for 17 years, competed in 4 Olympics, won a World Cup Downhill, and had multiple podiums. He recently retired, but continues to give back to the Ski Racing Community through his speed camps: American Downhiller. He is also currently coaching the US Men’s Speed Team.
